Dr Drake is the best neurologist in town in my opinion. She has provided care for me for epilepsy for many years. I trust nobody else! First of all, Dr. Drake was very friendly and courteous. Though I am being seen at Western Neuro for an ongoing condition, this was my first visit with Dr. Drake. She did not make any assumptions, and did not want to rely on whatever information was in my file from previous visits. She was very interested in a typed status that I brought to share with her. Beyond that, she went about asking her own questions and gathering relevant information just as if this was my first time being seen at Western Neuro for my condition. We had an open discussion and she proposed that we pursue several options to address my situation. We are going to proceed with all options she suggested. I have previously been involved with a couple of the options she suggested. She was aware of this, but nevertheless thought they were warranted based on my description of my current situation. She suggested the other two options because, given the advance in technology during the time that I've been subject to my condition, she thought that they might provide additional information that might be valuable in directing/driving my ongoing treatment. I found this very refreshing and somewhat encouraging. I realize that there is no "cure" for my condition, but Dr. Drake's discussion made me feel that she was going to do everything possible to address my condition in a positive way. Without casting aspersions on Marie Glisson, and while I wanted to continue the appointments to see her, my feeling toward my visits with her was that I was only checking in so she could see if, and how much, progression there had been with my condition.

I did not have to schedule this appointment. I had previously been seeing Marie Glisson at Western Neuro. I had an appointment with her on 01/18/2024. At that appointment I scheduled my next appointment for 07/18/2024. When Marie left Western Neuro to return to Utah, I was contacted by the office, apprised that she had left the practice, and was scheduled to see Dr. Drake on 07/19/2024.As indicated, the office contacted me to schedule the appointment with Dr. Drake. Additionally, the office contacted me on 07/15/2024 to remind me of the appointment on 07/19/2024.The office hours are standard. They are what I expect.

I normally see doctors within the Banner system, but was referred to Dr. Drake because my PCP said she was the very best and I had such a severe case of migraines. While I had to wait a long time to see her, which would have happened with a Banner doctor anyway, it was so worth the wait. I cannot stress that enough.Unlike most doctors, she spent time with me and didn't hover at the door making my think that whatever doctor it was simply didn't care and just wanted to get out of that room and onto the next patient. She listened, she's incredibly on top of medications and interactions, something no other doctor has been so thorough with. This Impressed me Immensely as I am on a lot of medications. That literally has never happened before and I saw a neurologist in Santa Cruz, CA for something like 12 years. One visit with Dr. Drake was far better than those 12 years. I felt seen, I felt heard, and I felt as though she truly cared about my health. She was also patient and let me take notes and took notes for me, too, as I was getting a migraine that day. She prescribed a few different medications to try, and some to ween off, and before I hit my car, those medications were ready at CVS. What an incredible doctor. I could go on and on, but I think this is the gist of it. Not just some assembly line robot. While the wait for my follow up is long, she said I could message her anytime and she would respond and I believe her. Oh and the staff? Super friendly, kind, and funny, which I always appreciate. I felt seen and heard by them, too.

I really really like the doctor, It was my first visit with her. I was switching from neurologist to her because my neurologist is retired. She was very, very knowledgeable with my MS and I have had physicians in the past that had no clue. I really really liked her a lot, her office staff was good, as soon as she realized myself and my husband were ex medical (I was a medical assistant for 20 years before finding MS, My husband was corpsman in the Navy) at that point she was talking to us in medical which we both beyond appreciate, I just really really liked her, liked her knowledge and how she interacted!!!

Dr. Drake was very personable. She listened as I explained my issue, asking clarifying questions and then describing her diagnosis. She also discussed with me various treatments. For example, she told me that I could continue to use the treatment I had been using (which I found on the internet) but also told me when (if head pain occurred more than 2 times a week) I should reach out for a RX that would be better on my liver and kidneys.
