He is co-principal investigator in several research projects on TAVR in low risk patients, low risk BICUSPID: Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement with Medtronic and APOLLO.

Dr Kirshner and Sherry were both warm, empathetic and helpful to us in understand what would happen during my CABG surgery. The doctor worked to assuages was my wife's concerns on surgery day; he essentially saved my life. It is difficult to state our appreciation for his kindness and professionalism.Sherry spoke with us during the exam to prepare us for what was ahead, and then was present, often, during my week in the C-ICU. She made sure that me, my wife and her sisters had a clear understanding of the home recovery process and, importantly, the schedule for the first appointments with the cardiac team. We appreciate her work in keeping us sane while we try to get through this challenging time. She, as everyone we met in the hospital in a long and arduous week in the C-ICU area, put us first in their concerns. We are in their debt.

I originally wanted to get a TAVR procedure done, but Dr.Kirshner explained to me that the open heart surgery was my best option because of my age and overall health. He did not push it on me because he could tell I was scared. He told me to think It over and call the next day. His PA Brenda Hochuli gave me her personal phone number. On the drive home I felt so comfortable with Dr.Kirshner that I had my wife text Brenda that I wanted the open heart surgery ASAP. When I got home, I got a call from Dr.Kirshner himself! He told me to think on it overnight. I told him I totally trusted him and I wanted the heart valve replaced ASAP. Dr.Kirshner made it happen and I am so happy with the decision I made thanks to Dr.Kirshner.
